SolaX solar batteries and inverters, installed across Brisbane
We fit SolaX and Sungrow because both publish warranty terms that apply in
Australia, both have support you can actually reach, and both have published
Australian electrical certifications. When something needs servicing in year
six, that matters more than a percentage point of efficiency on a spec
sheet.
The batteries
We install SolaX Triple Power batteries and the
SolaX HS51 module. The HS51 is modular LFP chemistry with
more than 6,000 cycles, an aerosol fire suppression system built in, and an
IP66 rating. It is a floor-standing or wall-mounted stack that adds capacity
in 5.1 kWh steps as a household’s needs grow.
Typical sizing for a Brisbane home is 10 to 14 kWh. That is enough to
cover the 4pm-to-9pm window when grid supply runs 30 to 45 cents per
kilowatt-hour, and it keeps you inside the full-rate band of the federal
discount.
The inverters
Every hybrid inverter does three jobs in one box: it converts solar into
usable power, it charges a battery, and it keeps the house running when the
grid goes down. We fit three SolaX models, depending on the roof.
- SolaX X1-Hybrid G4 — single phase, 5 kW, 2 MPPT
trackers, accepts up to 10 kW of DC input, Level 3 whole-home backup, full
load down to −30 °C, built-in Wi-Fi, IP65, 10-year warranty from
installation. The standard choice for a single-phase home that wants solar now
and storage later. - SolaX X3-Hybrid G4 — three phase, 5 / 8 / 10 / 15 kW,
up to 20 kW of DC input on the larger models, Level 3 whole-home backup. For
three-phase homes with heavy simultaneous loads. - SolaX X1-VAST — single phase, 5 / 8 / 10 kW, with
four MPPT trackers — the most inputs available on any
single-phase hybrid in this class. Up to 20 kW of DC input, V2G and V2H ready,
VPP ready, IP66, whole-home backup without additional devices, 5-year
standard warranty extendable on registration. For roofs that are not a simple
rectangle: a dormer, a second pitch, a west-facing section or late-afternoon
shading, four trackers let every panel harvest what it can.
Battery compatibility is not optional thinking
Most home batteries sold in Australia are DC-coupled, which means they need
a compatible hybrid inverter to work. This is the most common surprise for
people comparing quotes:
- SolaX Triple Power and HS51 batteries require a SolaX X1 or X3
hybrid inverter. - Sungrow SBR batteries require a Sungrow hybrid inverter.
If you are building solar now and considering storage in two or three
years, the inverter decision is really a battery decision made early. Get it
wrong and adding a battery later means replacing the inverter too — an
extra few thousand dollars.
The federal discount on SolaX storage
Since 1 May 2026, eligible batteries earn 6.8 Small-scale
Technology Certificates per usable kilowatt-hour, worth roughly
A$252 to A$260 per kWh. On a 10 kWh battery that is about
A$2,500 to A$2,600 off the installed price, applied directly
by your accredited installer. There is no application and no income test.
On 1 January 2027 the factor drops from 6.8 to 5.7 —
about 16% less. On a 10 kWh battery that is roughly A$400 of discount that
simply stops being available. The program is scheduled to run until 2030.
What a SolaX system costs in Brisbane
A 10 kWh SolaX Triple Power system installed typically runs between
A$7,500 and A$10,000 before the federal discount, depending
on the inverter, the switchboard and where the battery can physically go.
After the discount, most households land in the A$5,000 to A$7,500 range.
Send us a recent bill and your address and we will size it to how you
actually use power, with the discount itemised.
