Sungrow inverters and batteries, installed across Brisbane, the Gold Coast and Ipswich
Sungrow has a long Australian track record and a local presence, which for
a twenty-year asset is worth more than a spec sheet line. We fit the SH-RS
and SH-RT hybrid inverter ranges together with the SBR battery platform, and
we are experienced with the specific compatibility rules that come with them.
The hybrid inverters
- SH-RS — the single-phase hybrid range, paired with
the SBR battery platform. - SH-RT — the three-phase hybrid range, for homes
with heavy simultaneous loads or a three-phase connection.
Whole-home backup runs through the inverter, switching in under
10 milliseconds — fast enough that most people do not
notice the grid has gone. The inverter carries a 10-year warranty from
installation.
The SBR battery platform
The SBR batteries run from 9.6 kWh to 25.6 kWh and are
modular, so capacity can be added later as a household’s usage changes. They
carry a 10-year warranty from installation as well.
One thing to know before you compare quotes: the SBR battery
requires a compatible Sungrow hybrid inverter. It cannot be added to
a non-Sungrow inverter without replacing it. If you are installing solar now
and considering storage in two or three years, that is worth deciding
early.
When we recommend Sungrow and when we do not
We fit LONGi, SolaX and Sungrow. That is not indecision — it is because
the right answer depends on the house:
- Sungrow where a household already has a Sungrow system,
or where the local support network matters to you. - SolaX where battery compatibility with a future addition
matters most, or where the X1-VAST’s four MPPT inputs solve a complicated
roof. - LONGi for the modules, in every case — Tier 1
supply and 30-year performance terms.
The federal discount on Sungrow storage
Since 1 May 2026, eligible batteries earn 6.8 Small-scale
Technology Certificates per usable kilowatt-hour, roughly
A$252 to A$260 per kWh. A 10 kWh installation takes about
A$2,500 to A$2,600 off the price, applied directly by your accredited
installer. From 1 January 2027 the factor drops to 5.7.
Single phase or three phase
Most Australian homes are single phase, including almost all of Brisbane and
the Gold Coast. Check your switchboard — a single main switch means
single phase. Three phase spreads load across all three phases, which
reduces the current on any one of them, and that is what your network
connection is sized against. If you do not have three phase now, a
single-phase system with a sensibly sized inverter is the right route.
What a Sungrow system costs in Brisbane
A 9.6 kWh SBR battery with an SH-RS hybrid inverter, installed, typically
runs between A$7,000 and A$9,500 before the federal discount.
Exact pricing depends on the switchboard, the meter position and where the
battery can physically go.
